Introduction to 20 Indian companies in Bengaluru & 15 photonics distributors in India

In a continuous effort to help EPIC members access international markets, I attended Laser World of Photonics in Bengaluru to expand my network of contacts with Indian companies and local distributors. This network is then accessible to European EPIC member companies to support their competitiveness.

Laser World of Photonics India alternates between Mumbai and Bengaluru. When the exhibition takes place in Bengaluru it is collocated with the exhibitions Electronica and Productronica that are also organized by Messe Muenchen.

I look forward to attending the next edition of Laser World of Photonics India scheduled 7-9 November 2024 in Mumbai.

It is always a sincere pleasure to meet members of EPIC.

Networking is among the most valued services provided by EPIC.

EPIC CEO Networking Lunch

Both efficient and effective, the EPIC CEO Networking Lunch was hosted by Messe Muenchen and sponsored by OptoSigma (manufacturer of high-quality optics components, optomechanical components and optoelectronics system), Laser Science (distribution of lasers and related equipment since 1988), and Monocrom (manufacturer high-power diode lasers for the Medical, Aerospace & Defence and the Industrial sectors).?

Photonics companies visited in Bengaluru

  • ANSYS (The US based engineering simulation software company has a significant presence in India)
  • Eagle Photonics (Fiber optic products and practical training in Fiber Optics & Optical Communication Networking and Solutions with integrated products using Fiber Optics)
  • Optica (Precision optics and polymer optics for medical, aerospace, astronomy, automation)
  • Quanfluence (Photonic Quantum Computers)
  • Remidio (develop solutions for your ophthalmic)
  • SASMOS Fiber Optics (design and manufacturing of optical components up to large scale manufacturing of optical assemblies)
  • SFO Technologies (The Photonics team focuses on the development of components and systems for communication, sensing, imaging and industrial applications.)

Physically visiting the facilities of a company is the best way to get an impression of their capabilities.

Travel tips:

  • Google Maps and Uber work well in Bengaluru. An hour drive will cost 10 EUR, short distance in the city 1 EUR. If you book a car with a driver it will cost 50 EUR for 8 hours drive and 80 kilometers included.
  • If you buy a local SIM card, ask them to install it and test it works before you leave.
  • Staying in an international hotel will cost 90-120 EUR and the great advantage is that they are very resourceful if you need assistance. They booked for me a car with a driver, and they got me a laptop charging cable on a Sunday, etc...
  • Remember that India runs on IST timezone = India Stretchable Timezone, so expect maybe things take longer than announced or expected.
