Introducing Zoe Bennett, Reimagine Power's Newest Team Member
Zoe Bennett (she/her) is a Junior Policy Analyst at Reimagine Power. She would describe her hometown of Boulder, Colorado as a nice and sunny city with ample accessibility to the outdoors, snow sports, and the expanses of nature. As someone who has spent a lot of time connecting with nature, Zoe found the stark contrast between consecutive winters in Boulder to be a driving force behind her passion for environmental work.
Initially, Zoe attended Santa Clara University in San Jose, California for her freshman year, but due to the limitations brought on by the recent pandemic, she opted to do the rest of her schooling in her hometown at the University of Colorado Boulder. Zoe continued her studies online for about two years because in-person classes were unavailable. Once the world began to reopen, she completed a semester abroad in Berlin, Germany, studying sustainable cities. In the spring of 2023, Zoe earned her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies with minors in Business and Geology and found herself searching for a job that would align with her interests.
After graduation, Zoe quickly moved to Alaska and became a whale-watching guide, leading and educating tourists about the local humpback and orca whales. She also led several hikes on a large glacier in Juneau where she taught climate-related materials. While surveying for new endeavors, Zoe stumbled upon a climate course, fellowship, and networking program, Terra.do , and was able to sync up with Greg Thomson , Founder of Green Solutions & Technologies. Through Thomson, Zoe was connected with Allie Detrio , Reimagine Power’s Founder and Chief Strategist, and thus began her journey with Reimagine Power.
Currently, Zoe resides in Santa Cruz, California, where she can be found surfing and enjoying the beach. She loves to attend concerts, and recently saw a local folk band named Big Richard perform. Soon, she will visit Las Vegas, Nevada to see Dead & Company perform at the Sphere. Zoe is also currently involved in a data analytics boot camp that will end with the arrival of summer.
