Introducing the Women of Gallagher
Gallagher Animal Management
From the electric fence to cloud, Gallagher solutions empower customers to protect what matters most.
Throughout March and April we recognised some of the women which make up Team Gallagher.
We spoke to women from our offices across the globe to give an insight into how they formed careers in agtech. Check out their different stories below:
General Manager, Lisbeth Jacobs - Forging a path to protect what matters most
Originally from Antwerp in Belgium, Lisbeth is the middle daughter of an engineer and a historian.
Her determined nature means she is always striving for constant improvement from both herself and those around her.
“I’m always asking; how can we make that better, bigger or faster? How can we do this differently? How can we adapt to the changing environment? I think this curiosity has naturally led me into roles with a link to technology or innovation or sustainability,”?says Lisbeth.
eShepherd Software Manager, Katherine Morgan - Rebalancing responsibilities on the home front
Katherine has worked on eShepherd for over three years, drawing on her geospatial skills and experience working on IOT applications to help build the virtual fencing technology. Her passion for the product has helped her fulfil her love of automation and application building.
While Katherine never thought her career would lead her into agribusiness, she reckons it’s the perfect fit for her and her skillset.
Katherine said: “I love what I do. At any point I could have changed careers, but I found I had a natural affinity for seeing problems and solving them. In a nutshell, that’s what engineers do. Perhaps that’s why I feel right at home with the Gallagher team.”
Director of Operations, Jennifer Tiede - Finding her place in the world
When Jennifer joined Gallagher, 13 years ago, she was the first female Territory Manager employed in North America. "Before starting a family, I loved being out in the field meeting face-to-face with clients. But with the arrival of my two boys, I wanted to be closer to home and looked for different roles within Gallagher that didn’t require so much travelling," says Jennifer.
Gallagher has continued to support her to advance her career, while working with her to find rewarding roles that also fit well around her family.
Jennifer continues: “I love that I can be around for the boys when they get home from school and I’m grateful that Gallagher has helped me facilitate that lifestyle.”
Key Account Manager, Jodi French - Finding her true calling
Jodi started her working life in the early 1990s as a laboratory technician, but after a decade in the very clinical environment of a lab, it was evident Jodi was best suited to a job where she could build relationships with people.
Jodi says she has now found her true calling as Key Account Manager for Gallagher Animal Management Australia.
Growing up in regional North-Eastern Victoria, Jodi says it was inevitable she would pursue a career in agriculture – an industry she believes is attracting an increasing number of women.

Jodi said: “Agriculture by its very nature requires a level of understanding about the needs of producers, farming and sustainability of land. It can be very complex.??
“My advice to anyone thinking of entering agribusiness is to be diverse in your thinking and be confident about giving it a go.”
Territory Manager, Georgia Davies - Nurturing a lifelong passion for agriculture
Based in Dannevirke, Georgia and her husband Ben own a 10-hectare block and run Hereford stud cattle. It’s the perfect set up to enable Georgia to indulge in her passion for horses, gardening and all things outdoors.
Georgia was looking for a new challenge when she came to Gallagher and is determined to make the role her own.
“I wanted to learn something new, and I was intrigued by Gallagher’s innovation with product and technology,” she says. “I was also impressed with the creative license they give their people. It’s a big deal when a company lets you explore ideas, to find new ways to improve things.”
City girl driven by a passion for food?
A career in agriculture wasn’t an obvious choice for Jasminca growing up in Hong Kong surrounded by high rise apartments and city life., but a passion for cooking and a curiosity about the origin of food led Jasminca to study a Bachelor of Agriculture at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Agribusiness.
“I love food and cooking. My mother said to me, why don’t you learn about where food comes from? I thought that sounded like a great idea and when I looked at the , I really liked what it offered.”
Soon after graduating Jasminca secured her first job in customer service with Gallagher. After just six months she progressed into a new role as a Vendor Management Lead.
When asked what her advice would be to others thinking about a career in the agricultural industry Jasminca said: “Be brave and try everything! Take the first step. I made a big decision to come to Australia from Hong Kong to study. That was my first step. Once you try something new for the first time, you can only improve from there.”

Our Technical Support Manager in Chile, Pilar Artigas started her career in agriculture at the age of 19 working at Universidad Austral de Chile, a research university where she managed the 6,400 dairy cow operation on the University’s research farm.
