Ever wondered what Web3 is, or what blockchain, cryptocurrency, NFTs and Defi are? The word 'Bitcoin' or 'Ethereum' must have stolen a whisper into your ear at some point in time. You may have questions about how these elements of emerging technology operate.

You may wish to know how to access and navigate this new world. Most of all, it is almost certain that you want basic information that will make you understand the advanced information you come across daily on other channels.

Well, this is the reason why I created The Web3 Corner, a newsletter to help you get weekly insight and information on happenings and opportunities on Blockchain, Web3, NFTs, Cryptocurrency, Defi and the Metaverse.

Here is a Brief Profile of Web3

Simply put, Web 3.0 represents a decentralized online and web ecosystem based on blockchain technology also incorporating token-based economics. Otherwise known as Web3 or Dweb, the term was coined in 2014 by Ethereum co-founder Gavin Wood, and it gained massive interest in 2021 from the blockchain world.

In contrast to Web 2.0 where data and content are centralized and controlled by a small group of companies like Meta, Google and Amazon sometimes called the "Big Tech", it is believed that Web3 will provide increased data security, scalability, better privacy for users and combat the influence of large technology companies.??

My Journey so Far

Since my advent with cryptocurrency during the Covid19 pandemic in 2020, I have not turned back in the quest to discover what blockchain promises. More so, I came in touch with Web3 in the past year and the revelation of what it offers has blown my mind to think wide about the unending internet possibilities available to mankind.

As a tech journalist and writer, I have had cause to research content on Web3 across different channels and as interesting as it is, it leaves a lot of persons lost and confused - in a limbo. Available information can be overwhelming and challenging to understand given the technical terms surrounding the development of the space. There's continuous evolution to keep up with as everyday new use cases, developments and opportunities spring up.

I have over time connected with a growing network of persons that are enthusiasts and experts in Web3 and blockchain. If there is a word to describe everything Web3 offers, they will tell you it is 'exciting'.
