Introducing the SPARK S650 open tender concept designed by SPARK Marine Projects
SPARK Marine Projects
SPARK is a multi-disciplinary design, product development and project coordination team based in Monaco.
Developed in response to insights from superyacht captains, crew and clients, the SPARK S650 is a 6.5m open tender designed for versatility and reliability with requirements for drier and more comfortable handling, guest safety, watersports capabilities and simplified crew operations.
Cyril Le Sourd, Co-Founder and Creative Director of SPARK Marine Projects, explains, "We conducted thorough market research to create a product that can serve as a high-end luxury tender with wide appeal, as well as a functional rescue boat for yachts over 500 gross tonnes, while minimising compromises between these two use cases.”
Blending Quality with Capability
Building upon the success of a 5.6m open tender recently delivered to a 50m mothership, the SPARK S650 tender shares a similar design language, offering 25% more internal space than typical RIB-type tenders of this size. Thanks to its deep-V hull, it provides improved comfort and handling for up to 10 guests and crew members.
The waterline length, beam, and bow volume have been optimized within a low-profile envelope to facilitate launch and recovery for a variety of open-deck and enclosed mothership garage arrangements.
Charles Dence, Co-Founder and Business Development Director of SPARK Marine Projects, says, "We identified the target market for this concept as motor and sailing yachts around 40m to 55m in length that operate a single tender due to space constraints, as well as larger yachts above 500 Gross Tons that require a more versatile tender and rescue boat alternative.”
