As someone who is fortunate to work on building products to help members land their next job on LinkedIn, people often ask me for my top piece of advice on how they can best use LinkedIn’s tools to help them find their next job. And my answer to this question has remained the same: start by updating your Profile, including turning on Open to Work and showcasing your skills throughout the job seeking process. This is especially true during times of economic uncertainty when keeping your skills sharp and taking proactive measures—like career cushioning —becomes more important to stay relevant and future-proof your career. LinkedIn data shows that skills for today’s jobs have changed by 25% since 2015 and that number is expected to double by 2027.?
Our skills features just got a whole lot more powerful with the launch of Skills Match. Here are three ways skills can help get you hired on LinkedIn:
(1) Understand the skills relevant to the jobs that interest you with Skills Match?
Today, on nearly every job posting on LinkedIn, you’ll see a list of skills needed for that particular role and how those skills match up with the ones you have on your Profile. Adding skills directly from the skills match insight on a job and sharing context on where you’ve used or learned the skill is a quick and easy way to highlight your capabilities and increase your chances of getting hired.?
(2) Ensure every experience, education or certification on your Profile has skill associations
Putting your skills into context for hirers by associating them with previous experiences, certifications, and more helps hirers understand what you can do and what value you can bring to their organization. Hirers?using LinkedIn’s Recruiter tool can see these skills insights when they search for candidates and review any skill matches for their open roles, increasing their likelihood of reaching out.?
(3) Use LinkedIn Learning to keep your skills sharp and build top skills in demand

It’s an insider look at the most sought-after skills in today’s job market and ones employers are prioritizing when recruiting.?
It’s no surprise communication, leadership, and teamwork are high on this year’s list as these are the skills that help professionals succeed in an ongoing hybrid work environment. Remote and hybrid work environments require soft skills like communication more important than ever, and companies need employees who can do this well.?

10 个月Rohan Rajiv we are helping a startup client who wants to standardize the HR/recruiting iob descriptions and the KSA, knowledge, Skills, Attitude to the EU e-Compentency Framework. and one of the younger team members asked why not just update the JD, Jib Descriptions to the linkedin skills match, demonstrated skills and assessments and build a tool internally into the ATS to force applicants to have a query to their linkedin profile to confirm if they have. Ali is a developer and said he would be surprised if LinkedIn didn't already have thus information available via api. Saleb said her profile is restricted to just 50 skills so often such an assumption would miss a lot if qualified people with the right skills, but just selected 50 out if the 30+ thousand in the linkedin. A. The skill listed B. Endorsed for that skill C. Demonstrated evidence (text, video) D. Complete the 15 question (Basic) assessment for the skill. Are you the right person to discuss this with at linkedin? This article is a year old so maybe personnel changed or linkedin has a special site
Rohan Rajiv: 2 QQ's on the feature of adding a skill listed on the job description to your profile: 1) I'm assuming the added skill will then become part of your profile skillset and you'll still be capped at 50, right? 2) Are there plans to let applicants associate skills outside of their 50 global skills to a specific job description? I'm thinking of a use case when you have a rarely-used skill that you didn't choose to list in your top 50 but is listed on a job. Would you be able to add that as a job-specific skill in the future? I'm fully aware of the loopholes #2 above would add to your product, however there are ways to control for abuse.
