Introducing Selene Traynor, Head of Internal Finance at VANTRU
1.?How long have you worked in the corporate service industry? Provide us with a short summary of your work history prior to joining Vantru.
I’ve worked in the corporate services industry for four and a half years. Prior to joining Vantru, I qualified as a Chartered Accountant through Chartered Accountants Ireland and spent 14 years working in a local cross-border practice, managing a diverse client portfolio with exposure to UK and Irish tax, accounting, and compliance matters. I also gained experience in the USA, which helped me develop a greater understanding of international business culture across various sectors.
2.?When did you join Vantru and what is your job role?
I joined Vantru in March 2020 and hold the position of Head of Internal Finance. In this role, I am responsible for delivering financial reporting and contributing to the overall strategy and growth of the company.
3. What do you enjoy most about your job?
I really enjoy the variety and challenges that come with the role. Each day brings a different agenda, which presents learning opportunities that help expand my knowledge base and skill set. I appreciate the exposure to all aspects of the business and the ability to engage with clients across the globe. I also value working with a great team of professional and highly skilled individuals, who support each other to deliver quality services.
4.?What does an average day look like for you?
A typical day for me consists of a variety of tasks, including internal finance meetings, managing the workflow of the finance team, handling general practice matters, and addressing ad-hoc tasks. The fast-paced nature of the work keeps me busy and no two days are ever the same.

The most challenging aspects of my job include balancing multiple responsibilities and a busy schedule within a fast-paced working environment, keeping up with constantly changing laws, regulations, and technological advancements, and maintaining focus and motivation among my team members to improve productivity and performance.
7. What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my young family, attending outdoor sporting events and activities. I also love family holidays and travelling, socialising with friends, and helping or volunteering in my local community club.
8. Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
An interesting fact about me is that I can play various musical instruments, and I was a member of my school orchestra and a community band.
