Introducing Seine!

I have had the distinct honor of working with many extremely talented individuals and several amazing talent consulting and recruiting organizations over my career and along the way I was able to hone new skills, experience success, make plenty of mistakes, and soak up as much learning as possible…I even think I taught a few people a thing or two.  I look back at so many amazing experiences, extreme challenges, stressful discussions, global travel, life events, and special and memorable career moments and cannot help but to look back and gasp a bit, but more so simply smile. After 25 years of navigating my career, as the world shifted and changed, forcing me to adapt to the ever-evolving world of work, I have not been more proud, more excited, or more personally satisfied than this moment in introducing all of you to my next adventure, our next adventure…

Welcome to Seine!

Ever since I can remember, I have had the entrepreneurial spirit, beginning shortly after the lemonade and baseball card phase, with a well thought out (for a teenager at least) video game rental company that became an instant middle school success to building and founding the second largest club at Michigan State University in the rock-climbing club.  As minor as both may have been, they allowed me to experience the excitement and rush of what an entrepreneur thrives on: passion, creativity, leadership, coaching, motivating, teaching, and self-pride among many other things. 

So many facets of starting an organization that need to fall into place, but nothing more important, in my opinion, than the people you partner with and the ability of those partners to work together in a complimentary, yet challenging way.  Each of those small, yet personally impactful, entrepreneurial experiences in my past involved a great partner (and friend) that I trusted and was a strength to my own weaknesses.  Seine is no exception, as I have the honor of partnering with an industry legend, a pioneer in recruitment, one of the best relationship persons I have ever known, a friend, and someone who I can trust both personally and within our business partnership.  He also happens to be my brother.

Tom Geist took the chance almost two decades ago to found and start TEG Global, an IT focused staffing firm that was started on grass root principles of what matters most to clients and candidates alike; a personal experience, a memorable experience, and an enjoyable experience that delivers results.  In a time when recruiting and talent management was still taking shape, he was able to improve TEG Global year over year and build lasting and trusted relationships that have cemented his business model and success for years to come.  19 years later, the core principles still exist and become more important now than ever before.  As we partner together and usher in the next chapter of TEG Global, I am proud to announce that…

TEG Global is now Seine! 

Nothing gave me more pride than signing an agreement on March 1, 2020 to be the new CEO and Sr. Partner of TEG Global and to have the opportunity to merge Tom’s passion, tenure, and success in recruiting with my experience in total talent management and talent consulting to build the roadmap ahead.   Two brothers with a vision to take TEG Global to the moon where together we would catapult the next era of talent attraction.  One tiny little minor problem.   A big unexpected and uncontrollable challenge hit us head on…hit everyone head on.  Enter Covid-19 and its restrictions that very same month of March and how quickly our vision, our nation, and our globe all were faced with one of the largest issues this world has ever experienced.  We quickly pivoted, as all companies were forced to do, and did not let this pandemic go to waste.  From thrive to survive; we stayed positive and shifted gear to rebuild, repurpose, implement new technology, engage new clients, remodel process, hire new talent, and package it all with the brand we are introducing today.  

Seine is the culmination of years of experience in the talent attraction industry from both Tom, me, the thousands of people we have experienced along the way, and our swiftly growing team of Talent Consultants.  In a talent world that is driven and enabled by technology advancing day to day with text, chat bot, video, AI, big data, hover boards, virtual reality, rocket ships to Mars, and so many other amazing advances in the way we work, communicate, and live.   The talent landscape has change and talent is, now more than ever, becoming more and more in charge of how they want to work; fulltime, contract, 1099, Corp to Corp, Freelance, and many others.    Regardless of technology changes and how talent seeks to work, Seine promises to stay true to those guiding beliefs, of personal engagement and memorable experiences, that Tom put forth 19 years ago.   

I am humbled and fortunate to have had the many great experiences I have had in my lifetime, at home and at work, and I could not have embarked on this next chapter without the support of a few key people in my life.  A special thank you to my wife, Marissa, for the confidence, love, hard work, and her own amazing career success that allows me the opportunity take a risk and fulfill a dream.  My four boys, Samuel, Tripp, Calvin, and Byrne for simply lighting a fire in me every day with their creative minds, inquisitive questions, unending energy, and love of dad.    All my family, former and current co-workers, and friends who listen to my big ideas, teach me, and challenge me…you know who you are.  Finally, my big brother and partner Tom, who has taken the opportunity to teach me, learn from me, challenge me, and is brave enough to evolve TEG Global, his legacy and dream, into a shared vision and brand in Seine.

At Seine we care. We get it done.  We have fun.
