2025 Outlook, According to LinkedIn’s Chief Economist?

As sales leaders, you’re all about the money. So, let me do you a favor. If you are interested in getting the latest and greatest economic insights from LinkedIn, I recommend that you follow the LinkedIn Economic Graph page and subscribe to Carla Intal’s quarterly newsletter, “The Sales Nowcast.”?

The following is an advanced snippet from an upcoming Sales Nowcast Newsletter.

“At Sales Connect in NYC earlier this month, LinkedIn Chief Economist Karin Kimbrough highlighted that 2025 will be a bright spot, with interest rates declining across major central banks (most recently the Fed cut 50 basis points in September). The lower interest rates create market optimism, as it encourages companies to take on more risk, it could also potentially stimulate more investments and is growth-orientated for the commercial sector.? It is anticipated that rates will continue to fall, leading to greater market confidence among business leaders especially those at larger firms.”


“The outlook for 2025 seems like a recession has been avoided and a soft landing is expected, with more stability and fewer shocks. Europe is also looking better, albeit the back half of 2025 remains to be seen. On the labor front, albeit a lagging indicator, there is good news pointing to an imminent hiring shift in favor of employers, as we see more applicants in the market versus open positions. In the US, there are now 2.5 applicants per open role versus 1.5 a year ago, which is a welcome sign for employers who are actively attracting high quality talent while managing labor costs.”
