Introducing... RTL The Podcast!
Rose Inglis
Career coach having a career crisis - follow me as I move from Melbourne, Australia to Denver, USA with my young family.
Episode 1 - International Human Rights advocate Robyn Barnard on following your head AND your heart
Hello and welcome to Rose Tinted Law the podcast. I am Rose Inglis, Founder of Rose Tinted Law and your host.?
RTL is a professional development platform for curious and open-minded legal professionals. This podcast is a space to have honest conversations about legal careers with people who are boldly carving out their unique place in our profession.?
I want to share with you some behind the scenes context about who I am and how RTL has evolved.?RTL initially started as my passion project while I was on parental leave in December 2020. Since then, it has evolved from a social media account (@rosetintedlaw, to consulting services, professional development coaching and now, a podcast!
I initially planned to just post the juicy parts of interviews with my friends on Instagram. I thought this format would be more interesting and easier on my part, but I was wrong.?I also realised that the short video format did not do justice to the conversations I was having.?My friends were being very generous and open about their career journeys and were open and trusting me with their stories to share with a broader audience.
Within this same time, numerous people in my network, people who I know well and people I connected with on social media were reaching out to me for honest, authentic, no BS career advice. In a profession that is so conservative and has such a stiff upper lip I realised that there was a real need for a platform where we can share our career journeys candidly and generously.?

And so here I am. With my podcast. Having honest conversations about people’s legal careers. Focusing on the pivots, and twists and turns and blood, sweat and tears behind the Linked In updates.?
My first episode is with my best friend Robyn Barnard about her career journey from Melbourne Law School to the NY Bar and now Refugee Advocacy in Washington DC. RTL is a resource that I wish that we had to help us navigate our unique career paths.
You can check out my first episode on Spotify (please click follow on the top left) Apple Podcasts (please click the + sign on the top right) and Subscribe on Google Podcasts.
I hope you enjoy this honest conversation, and it helps?open your eyes to the limitless possibilities of where your legal career may take you.?
