Introducing the QISPOE: A Simple Revolution in Hybrid and Online Training

What the heck is a QISPOE?

QISPOE is an acronym for Quality, Interactive, Self-Paced Online Experience.

I sometimes use the term QISPOE to avoid people assuming we create online experiences in the same vein as the typical ‘Online Course’ or ‘Online Module’.

After all, many online courses and modules are essentially one-way information flows that force participants into passive learning experiences. Furthermore, most online learning is neither interactive nor highly self-reflective; therefore, it lacks engagement.

A QISPOE, on the other hand, transforms the traditional online approach, emphasising interactivity and two-way information flows.?Accountability is maximised, partly through the requirement that participants implement strategies in their workplace and post online reflections on their implementation experiences.

This is not about 100% self-paced online programs.

However, we are not referring to a fully self-paced online program. Instead, we advocate running the QISPOE (Quality, Interactive, Self-Paced Online Experience) alongside live training so that the QISPOE connect the live sessions.

The two QISPOE foundation stones:

  1. Deep Understanding of Change: The QISPOE is built on a profound understanding of the change process and triggers self-reflection and awareness change in participants.
  2. A Learning System Based on Interactivity: A QISPOE is only a QISPOE if we use a unique online learning platform designed for interaction. Very few such platforms exist.
