Introducing Pitch a Founder: Built for Black entrepreneurs

Black entrepreneurs have significantly changed the world and influenced society.

From the tech we've created, to the products we've innovated, our contributions to the business world is truly unmatched and it's time for everyone else to finally #PutSomeRespectOnOurName ????????????.

As we all know, the inequities of venture?funding?is still sadly a reality with Black founders?receiving 1.2% of venture dollars,?per Crunchbase.

In order for real change to occur and to close the funding gap, it's time for investors to look outside of their normal social, racial, and geographic environments for innovative startups to fund. Also, it's imperative that these type of funding opportunities are intentionally shared with Black founders.

Access to resources and funding should truly be accessible and equitable for all.

Since launching my media startup Mogul Millennial, we've made business content and resources accessible for the Black community through our articles, startup pitch practices, curated newsletters, and online resources like our Startup Funding Database.

What we've done thus far with Mogul Millennial is just the beginning.

At Mogul Millennial, our sole mission is to connect, support, and accelerate Black founders. Our upcoming event Pitch a Founder will help us continue in that mission in a meaningful way.

I'm excited to announce that Pitch a Founder is a virtual experience connecting Black founders to venture capitalists, accelerator programs, venture studios, and top brands. Pitch a Founder is similar to demo day, but remixed. At Pitch a Founder, instead of founders pitching investors, the investors will pitch their firm to US (the founders).

This event is perfect for current and aspiring Black founders, as well as investors who are truly passionate and purposeful about closing the funding gap.

At Pitch a Founder, investors will share more about their firm to an audience of Black entrepreneurs. In addition, the investors will be dropping gems and providing details on resources that can help Black entrepreneurs grow and scale their businesses.

At Mogul Millennial, we strive to connect Black founders to funding opportunities, meaningful networks, and smart resources to help them grow. Our two-day Pitch a Founder event is our next step in that mission.

On January 26-27, we'll virtually meet to hear from investors, accelerator directors, and startup leaders who have collectively invested billions in startups across industries and sectors, and have played pivotal roles in building innovative brands.
