I have been busy lately. You know what they say, 'no rest for the wicked!' This week I launched my brand new, one-off, premium magazine, 'Perfecting the Pout.' This glossy magazine is the latest addition to the anthology, to help medical practitioners on their journey to facial aesthetics excellence.

So, what's the new literature about I hear you ask?

'Perfecting the Pout' is a facial aesthetics clinician's best source of information, for those that perform – or want to perform – lip augmentation. This magazine covers it all, from anatomy to technique and the most popular lip filler trends. We explore ethnicity and gender differences and how these factors impact how we go about creating the perfect pout. In the literature we look at the ageing process in the lips and oral area and how that affects patient requirements, depending on their age. We also explore the age-old question of which is better for lip augmentation, the needle, or the cannula?

So, with the lip filler trend being as popular as it is, it begs the question…

Why did I create 'Perfecting the Pout?'

Did you know the facial aesthetics global market is set to hit 3bn this year? A massive part of that revenue is from lip augmentation. With a procedure as popular as lip fillers, surely the market must be littered with lip filler books and texts for avid consumers to read. Well, actually – surprisingly no. I saw there was a vital resource missing from the market for this, very commonly requested, basic procedure. Courses for in-person training exist, yes. I, with the Botulinum Toxin Club run basic and advanced lip filler courses but there aren't many robust lip filler texts out there which cover all of the aforementioned as well as complications management.

I provide much of what I have included in the magazine, in my pre-workshop theory for BTC delegates. I was often being told by delegates how thorough, logical, and detailed a resource it is, and that they find it so useful to refer back to once they are trained. After these comments, I just knew I needed to bring this information into the public domain for others to benefit from it who may be thinking about, or have done, lip filler training.
