Meet Paul Whybrow (Varda Creative Leadership & Bodyboard Immersive Experiences) a home-based consultant who is a good example of staying agile in changing times, following your passion and chasing your belief in the future. Pauls businesses are about change management, technology integration ?? and human ?????soft skills now and into the future.
From the UK ???? originally and after having enjoyed a stint in Manly in 1991 it was wasn’t long before Paul returned with his wife to enjoy the Australian weather permanently and raise a family. Paul has lived in Curl Curl, Beacon Hill and now Belrose.
Having worked for CH7, Fairfax media, Foxtel in media production and entertainment Paul gained great experience with Leadership and creativity programs. He believes creative leadership is the future of business and this will be focussed around the soft skills.
This inspired a business direction bridging a constantly changing media world he offers business services ????? and technology ?? integrating with these soft skills. These skills have been used with IT giants Cognisant and Tech Gemini. The changing media world ?? inspired the birth of Pauls businesses - Varda and Bodyboard to work with the philosophies of change management, disruption, and soft skills ??
Varda is a Swedish term for nurturing and it facilitates a consultative philosophy in management where everyone is equal ??. Varda is about corporate collaboration helping companies instil the ethos of no matter what level you’re at in a company everyone gets together to talk and exchange ideas over coffee and sweet treat.
Body Board –a business that facilitates ‘new world work’ in media and entertainment??. Using immersive technology in the new forms of media such as augmented reality and new technology. Pauls analogy is get immersed in the new disruptive technology like a bodyboard in water. Body Board links the business world with professional services around the new media technologies and how they fit together. Paul works with Multinationals like Tech Mahindra in these integrations.
What is your mantra? For both companies it would be “imagine the possibilities and craft the practical. Putting future thinking and creativity into leadership ??. Getting the soft skills to work in the 21st century.
Comments on future directions? Develop soft skills for the future for creativity and leadership. I public speak about covering this gap. It’s about how you think about yourself, working peers and leaders – how you communicate and how you think with others. AI will automate jobs; everyone is living longer so they need to have the soft skills to help with path.
How do you disrupt in business? Be creative ?????♀?.
Any obscure facts? Accenture reports only 18% of CO’s trusted there Corporate Marketing Officers to be disruptive. Women will also spend money on themselves to get educated in this leadership space and they are more generally more successful at leadership
What do you like about your businesses? I do the business I like and I am happy ??working at what I do. I like the lifestyle, I enjoy life on the beaches ??, I love nurturing people.
