Launching our Enhanced Recruitment Service ???
The school governance landscape is changing, and the challenge of finding skilled and dedicated volunteers for governing boards is as urgent as ever. To meet the needs of the sector, we were proud to announce the launch of our Enhanced Recruitment Service (ERS) this month.??
This paid for offering is ideal for schools who need volunteers with a particular skillset, or are struggling to fill a vacancy.??
Using a range of recruitment tools, we’ll engage potential candidates who may not have considered school governance before but can bring the right skills to your board. This proactive approach and targeted headhunting enables us to reach a largely untapped pool of talent in your local area.

As we approach our 25th anniversary as a charity, we were pleased to share our Annual Impact Report for 2023-24 with you. The report offers an overview of our market position, successes, and the evolution of our services over the past year.?
We're delighted that we've seen a 5% increase in volunteers we've appointed to governance roles, and to see the key role partnerships have played in that success. After evolving our services to meet sector demand and ensure the long-term sustainability of Governors for Schools, we're excited to see what the year ahead holds.?

At the start of the month, we released an update on our services, outlining the need for us to adapt to the changing educational governance landscape so we’re able to continue to find diverse new voices for school and trust boards. This involves introducing more paid-for elements into our offering and looking forward as a charity to find alternative sources of funding.??

We were also excited to share the school governance journey of Honey Fafowora, a Lead Policy Analyst at the Bank of England. She was appointed as a school governor through our service in January 2020 and sat on the board of Robert Barclay Academy until January 2024.
