Introducing our new podcast series, Communication Untangled

I can’t tell you how happy I am to be finally launching our new podcast.

It’s been a long time coming but Communication Untangled is now live and already galloping up the charts for marketing podcasts on Apple.

And winning lovely praise like this! Thanks Nathan Nelson

So the series?explores all those tiny facets of communication which influence our behaviour but often go unnoticed, like menu design and motorway typography and online reviews.?

You’ll hear from experts in design, digital and psychology and pick up?tips you can apply to your own business, marketing or brand.

It’s produced by the most-excellent Rob Birnie from Made by DBM , who like me has a background in radio (between us that’s BBC, Planet Rock, Magic FM, Cambridge 105 Radio).

Because of this, we’re a bit old-school and wanted to do it properly. No one needs another tech-bro-self-indulgent-waffle podcast, do they?

What we had in mind was something that would go out on Radio 4;?interesting to an audience already into marketing and communications, but enjoyable to the casual listener too.

So what's in series one?

Untangling Brand: We kick off the series with Pentagram designer Harry Pearce (John Lewis, V&A, Liberty LBTY), plus NASA’s evolution from a meatball... to a worm.

Untangling Menus: Sean Willard from the Menu Engineers on the psychology of menu design, plus a look at Netflix’s idleness aversion strategy.

Untangling Forms: Iain Boyd and Adam Robertson from Government Digital Service explain how to gather information fairly and transparently. In contrast to dark patterns on the web which set out to trick us...

Untangling Colour: With Webs of Influence author Nathalie Nahai , plus a spotlight on the colour red (a personal favourite, of course!)

Untangling Reviews: Trustist ?????????? founder Nigel Apperley MBA explains the power of online reviews to influence consumer behaviour.?

Untangling Signs: Transport expert Mark Ovenden talks motorway typography. And which city leads the way with braille and tactile signage??
