Introducing our interns: Addis Sobiech

As part of our mission, we work with young adults to provide them with work experience, career development, and exposure to the beverage industry.

In the past 3 months, we've engaged 5 interns to assist with our business in Finance, Retail, and Marketing.

Our featured Finance intern, Addis Sobiech is described by his supervisor Philippa Huyler, Procurement Manager as "A young man who takes initiative, is disciplined, and gives his best?every day."?

Here's what Addis had to say about his experience at Commonwealth Brewery Limited.

Q. What stage are you at in your career and what drew you to this opportunity at CBL?

A. I am at the beginning of my career journey currently studying Computer Information Systems at the University of the Bahamas. I was interested in this opportunity to gain work experience, learn from CBL employees and build relationships with professionals.

Q. What are the main projects you worked on while at CBL?

A. The main project I have been working on is sorting through the error log of each month. The error log is a spreadsheet of all errors found throughout all invoices/purchase orders. For example, an error may be that the given PO does not match with its invoice or that a vendor does not appear in the system.

Q. What skills/experiences have you gained from your experience working here?

A. As a result of this experience, I have increased my organizational skills. Additionally, I improved my professionalism in how I interact with colleagues and connect with them.

Q. What advice would you share with future interns at CBL?

Future interns should try to take advantage of the opportunity and learn as much as they can. They should also build relationships with the people here.
