Introducing our flight controller alongside its new and improved successor
By Roman Dvorkin , VP of Engineering
Meet the Flytrex Flight Controller (codename Flyhawk). This tiny, super smart, printed circuit board (PCB) sits at the heart of our drones and is responsible for all real time movement as we fly towards another happy customer - from motor speed, navigation, sensor feedback and so much more!
While there are plenty of off-the-shelf flight controllers on the market, ours is developed entirely in house, from the design to manufacturing and all the way to production. The decision to fully own our flight controller design is critical for three reasons:?

To make things even more exciting, after almost 3 years in service, we will be sunsetting our original flight controller (left side) and upgrading to our latest and greatest - our newest flight controller is smaller, smarter, and lighter! This means more efficient flights, increased safety, and lower costs. We're excited to see how this innovation will shape the future of drone delivery. ?? #DroneDelivery #Engineering #Flytrex

4 个月Hi Roman, looks great, for someone which safety is my core activities, I wanted to ask few things: 1. You stated safety is one of the pros of in house development, I couldn't agree more, can I ask which safety standard you used or how was your approach regarding software safety in this environment? 2. About cost - how is it cost effective to design your own solution vs COTS item that produced in millions?
