Introducing our Design Manager

With a professional background spanning back to 1999, Gary's journey in design began in manufacturing, transitioned through agency work, and returned to the tangible world of manufacturing, where his passion truly lies. His diverse experience covers sectors including signage, retail design, transport, and urban industrial design. He holds a qualification in Engineering Product Design, underscoring his technical prowess and creative vision.

Gary has been a cornerstone of the Externiture team since September 2019, bringing nearly five years of innovation and expertise as the Design Manager. Leading the design team, Gary's role is pivotal in shaping products that enhance passenger experiences and streamline manufacturing, assembly and maintenance processes.

Gary's professional highlight includes designing a bus shelter system from the ground up as part of a dedicated team, a testament to his innovative spirit and collaborative nature. At Externiture, his standout achievement has been the design of the Mono bus shelter, a project that epitomises his ability to merge functionality with aesthetic appeal.

Raised in the countryside, Gary experienced London life before returning to his rural roots. Gary is a dedicated family man who values creativity, efficiency, and a well-balanced life. He cherishes family life and finds joy in the simplicity and serenity of the countryside.

A proud father, Gary considers raising his three kids an ongoing and deeply rewarding 'project'. In his leisure time, Gary enjoys being outdoors, riding motorbikes, cycling, and tinkering with various projects. He has a particular fondness for his VW Passat estate, which he describes as both impressive and mundane.

Favourite Sandwich: His love for sandwiches is eclectic, with a firm belief that the filling-to-bread ratio is crucial, always favouring more filling!
