Introducing one of BPM's newest Partner: Tara Wilson

Meet Tara, the first Flow-Through Partner in BPM’s Greater Los Angeles Region and a lifelong learner dedicated to growth and collaboration. With a passion for helping clients thrive and a love for fantasy novels, Tara brings energy and deep knowledge to every aspect of her work and life.

Describe your path to partnership – what skills helped you get there??

My long-term career goal has always been to become Partner, and I believe one skill that helped me achieve this goal is an openness and willingness to learn and grow. Yes, of course, I put in the long hours and hard work over the years to master subject matter and develop technical skills, but I also actively sought feedback and remained dedicated to my development. Avoiding complacency and understanding there will always be opportunities to continuously improve is vital to success at every level in any profession.

What do you hope to achieve as a Partner?

I’m aligned with BPM’s Flow-Through Practice Group, which means I mainly work with Partnership and S Corporation clients. As the first Flow-Through Partner in the Greater Los Angeles Region, I’m excited to collaborate with colleagues to expand the Southern California Flow-Through Practice Group and strengthen our presence in the marketplace.

What’s your favorite activity outside of work that helps you recharge??

I absolutely love to read! One of my favorite ways to unwind is to read a great fantasy novel on our back deck. I probably read 100+ novels a year.

What was your first paying job???

My first paying job was at a local waterpark. I worked at the merchandise store inside the park, and my duties included operating the checkout registers and helping set up floor displays to showcase our latest summer fashion items.

What’s a fun fact about you that most people might not know??

In college, I led my sorority’s dance team and helped choreograph routines that earned us first place at the annual fraternity week dance competition for several years in a row. Our multiple wins led to recognition outside of the Greek community and we were invited to perform during the halftime show of the NBA 3-Point Shootout Event when it was hosted by our university and filmed on campus.
