Introducing one of BPM's newest Partner: Danuta Fitzsimmons
Meet Danuta Fitzsimmons, a new Partner at BPM who is passionate about building strong client relationships and mentoring others. With a background in tutoring, translation and working with a variety of clients, she brings a collaborative approach to her work. Outside of the office, Danuta recharges by taking walks along the shoreline with her Goldendoodle Millie, enjoying the fresh air and a bit of fun.
Describe your path to partnership – what skills helped you get there??
My path to partnership has been a journey of growth, support and carving my own path within BPM. Starting from within, I’ve had the opportunity to develop my skills and deepen my expertise through the mentorship and guidance of incredible leaders like Jenise Gaskin, Andrea Cope, McDonnell and Mark Leverette. Their support helped me find my unique strengths, and over time, I’ve built a role that combines my love for client relationships, collaboration and mentoring others. Becoming a home-grown partner at BPM means a lot to me because it reflects the values of teamwork and continuous learning that are at the heart of our firm. Now, as a partner, I’m excited to pay it forward by supporting others on their own paths and contributing to a culture of shared success.
What do you love most about your role and the work you do for clients??
What I love most about my role is being a trusted advisor to my clients, helping them tackle challenges and find the right solutions. From blockchain startups to real estate firms and everything in between, I get to work with such a diverse range of clients at every stage of their journey. Knowing I can connect them with exactly what they need — drawing on cross-departmental collaboration and teamwork, whether they’re down the street or across the world — is what makes this work so rewarding.?
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received from a mentor??
The best advice I got from a mentor was, “Do your best with what you have, and don’t stress over what you can’t control.” It’s something I’m still working on, but this mindset has helped me focus my energy where it really matters and let go of unnecessary stress. When things get overwhelming, I remind myself of this advice so I can move forward confidently, make clear decisions and focus on solutions that truly benefit my clients and team.?

What’s your favorite activity outside of work that helps you recharge??
My favorite way to recharge is taking my Goldendoodle for a walk along the shoreline and lagoons nearby. It’s the perfect mix of fresh air, exercise and just watching her do her goofy things — like trying to “herd” ducks or attempting (and failing) to catch squirrels. She was originally supposed to be my daughter’s dog, but now she’s become my personal trainer and mental health buddy, making every walk a mini adventure and a much-needed break from the daily routine.?
What was your first paying job??
My first paying job was a blend of my love for English and a bit of adventure! I’d discovered back in middle school that I had a knack for English, which only grew stronger in high school, so by the time I was studying it at university in Poland, I was ready to put it to use. I started out tutoring and then took on translation gigs, which were surprisingly fun — like the time I got to tour Polish lumber mills with Swedish IKEA reps looking to set up factories. It was a cool mix of language, culture and learning experiences that I never expected from a “student job.”?
