Introducing A New Way To Stay In The Loop
Dida Clifton
Bookkeeping is not Accounting. It's Operations. It's part of the day to day mundane yet very important systems and processes of every business. I help owners make their operations work so they don't have too.
For the past several years I've been writing a little note every Sunday to TheOfficeSquad database. Just a brief note that I hope has a little humor and that might teach a valuable lesson. Mentors and friends have suggested that I share it here. So, here it goes. Hope you like it and find value in the message.

Good morning!?I hope you've had a great week and are feeling as grateful as I am that Hurricane Hilary didn't do as much damage as expected here. With the fires and floods in the news lately, I'm very thankful for the Las Vegas weather.
This week I'm starting something a little different for the Sunday Brief.?Each week I'll share one of the lessons learned on a list of 50 that was put together by an amazing leader and business owner in the Las Vegas construction world. He's now retired from that and living the dream of every business owner.?- These days he's riding his motorcycle as a cross-country tour guide in his amazing new venture.?Doing what you love and getting paid for it...is that not the dream??
For the next 50 Sundays, I'll use ChatGPT to expand on each of the 50 lessons.?Stay tuned for some great nuggets of knowledge from someone who has been there and done that, with an AI twist.?
Let me know what you think.?
Tackling Self-Sabotage on Your Entrepreneurial Journey
Written by AI in the voice of Dida Clifton evidently.?
Welcome to lesson learned #1 - Self Sabotage is Real.?I asked ChatGPT to help with this one in my voice and it came out all country.?I am from Texas but this is over the top. Not counting this one, let me know how many "ain'ts" you count. I toned it down but it's still pretty funny. Let's roll with it.?
Ain't this journey a wild ride? Now, I reckon we all talk about the hurdles from the outside – market shifts, competition, the works. But lemme tell ya, there's a sneaky critter we oughta be watchin' out for within ourselves: self-sabotage. Yep, you heard me right. Sometimes, we're our own worst enemies on this trail to success.
?1. Wrangling the Mind Mustang: Now, I ain't no shrink, but I've seen it time and again – we start second-guessin' ourselves, thinkin' we ain't cut out for this trail. But hey, you didn't get this far by bein' a greenhorn, did ya? That little voice in your noggin whisperin' doubt? Don't let it lasso your dreams. Recognize it, stand up tall, and tell it to skedaddle! Believe me, the only trail worth followin' is the one you blaze yourself.
?2. Kickin' Outta Your Comfort Saddle: Y'all know what they say 'bout comfort zones, right? They're like quicksand – cozy but dang dangerous. I get it, sticking to the same ol' path feels safe, but lemme tell ya, growth ain't found there. You gotta rustle up some courage, climb outta that saddle, and head toward the unknown. Embrace change like a long-lost friend – it might just lead you to hidden treasures you never knew were out there.
3. Saddle Up Your Grit: Life on the trail ain't all sunshine and rainbows – you'll hit storms, sure as shootin'. But that don't mean you turn tail and run. Nope, you gotta saddle up your grit and ride on through. Remember, setbacks aren't signs to give up, they're just challenges to make you stronger. So, gather your posse, lean on 'em when times get tough, and keep ridin' with your head held high.
?Folks, remember this: self-sabotage might be a sly varmint, but you're the trail boss of your own journey. Kick doubt to the curb, wrangle change like a seasoned cowboy, and ride through storms like the true pioneers you are.
?This trail ain't for the faint of heart, but I've seen you wrangle challenges before, and you'll wrangle this one too. So saddle up, my friends, and let's keep ridin' toward that sunset of success!?
