Introducing LUMEN Bangkok Udomsuk Station
I am thrilled to announce the launch of our first hotel under the destination-centric new brand — LUMEN. The inaugural property, Lumen Bangkok Udomsuk Station, stands as a beacon of enlightened hospitality, and brings our innovative vision into the spotlight.
My team and I have been exploring the importance of distinctive branding and its ability to capture genuine opportunities. The dedication and creativity of our team have vividly brought the LUMEN brand to life, with its narrative, 'A Brighter Way to Stay' perfectly captured in every aspect of the hotel's design.
Identifying a niche within our portfolio of hotel brands, LUMEN seamlessly integrates into our growth strategy. It extends inventive opportunities to hotel owners by providing even more creative opportunities for property conversion options, cost-effective construction or renovation plans, and integration of adaptable smart technology.
Some of you may remember my post from June last year, ‘Hospitality Brand Proliferation’ where I argued that any new brand must have “differentiation in product, service, and communication. It should serve as the springboard for innovation in facilities, F&B, guest services, and experiences that all come together to support the brand story itself.” Well, Lumen does all of that and more.
True to its name, a Lumen Hotel promises a brighter stay, with our unique firefly icon symbolizing the constant sparkle and warmth that we aim to bring to every guest's experience.
I think it is vital that hotels are connected with the local culture in which they reside, with design and experiences inspired by and in direct partnership with our communities, ensuring that each LUMEN pays unique tribute to its destination.
Our debut in Udomsuk showcases this bespoke philosophy. Here, guests can explore 'Our Routes' — curated guides to the locality's eateries, entertainment, retail, and exploration, Guests are encouraged to tour the neighborhood, to celebrate and enjoy everything that’s there, supporting the local community and making accessible the real Bangkok that they’d never normally see. The more they explore in the local neighborhood, the more they are rewarded on property with upgrades and surprises available for enlightened explorers.

Every Lumen Hotel is a canvas for local flavour, so we've curated hotel-specific signatures that resonate with their setting. On arrival at Lumen Bangkok Udomsuk Station, guests are offered the delicious (and sinfully moreish!), Mango Sticky Rice Ice Cream — paying homage to Thai heritage. As night falls, our lobby transforms with an immersive light show, and to kickstart mornings, a choice of invigorating Breakfast Shooters waits for those who need a pick-me-up after a memorable night in the city!
Every Lumen will be a destination, completely one-of-a-kind, embracing every element of a boutique hotel feel but supported by the world-class standards of a global brand. There will be different signatures in every destination, customized to the location, the local community, and the specific product features of each hotel.
As we anticipate the launch of 8 more LUMEN hotels across Asia, my pride in this venture is immeasurable; and this, I assure you, is just the beginning.
