Find Your Tribe

Have you ever had a job that has left you, on a Sunday night, sitting on your front steps crying?

That was totally me this last weekend. This job has left me feeling like a horrible person at times, stressed out, tired, and wanting to run to Mexico and never looking back. So why do I do it?

Well, I don’t really have a choice. But the full truth is, while it is exhausting and emotionally draining at times, I love it. Sick, right?!

But I am going to go out on a limb and say that some of you reading this have the job I’m describing and that’s being a mom. (You didn’t think I was talking about tena.cious, did you?!) I think my mom described it best when she told me being a mom is like being in prison, but you love the warden. #Truth

You see, the terrible twos have hit the Weber household with a vengeance and our soon to be threenagers are giving me and the hubby a run for our money.

Now that you have a little glimpse into what our house is like every.single.day lately, I will let you know that I won’t be handing out parenting advice here. I am not a mommy blog and I did just tell you I was bawling on my steps; I don’t think I’m fit to offer much- ha. So stick with me, this totally relates to biz.

So after my little melt down, I did what any mom in this day and age would do… I went to Facebook. I posted in a group that I’m a part of for moms with multiples in the cities. To start out my post, I told them I wasn’t looking for advice- just needed to know that I wasn’t going through this alone.

And what ended up happening? A flood of mamas posting how they are feeling the exact same way. Insert a big sigh of relief.

Having that community of support to tell me it would get better and to hang in there was all I needed.

So where’s the biz advice right?

Well, I’d turn that question back around to you and ask, what kind of tribe are you hanging out with?

No matter if it’s kids or a biz, it takes a village. We can’t do this alone and yes, sometimes we may find ourselves crying on the front steps because of our biz and not our kids. (Or let’s be real, it could be a mixture of both!)

But when we have the community of others just to tell us we aren’t the only ones feeling this way, it can make all the difference in your biz.

If you have not found your tribe yet, this could be a good place to start.

But whether you’re a mama, entrepreneur, or both, just remember you are not in this alone.
