Pindex frequently recognizes quality individuals, businesses who make a difference and initiatives aimed at lifting the levels of quality in South Africa. I had the opportunity to sit down with a true inspirational thought leader.
John Hamman Founder and Director of Kidz Adventure Camp started at a young age with parents that fostered orphaned children over holidays and weekends. This made him aware of the needs of others and how important it is to give back.
At the young age of 18 he was offered a job while doing his studies to drive a quadriplegic young man (William Gillian Scott) studying at Stellenbosch around to classes. William was quite a hand full as he was previously a master gymnast and sitting in a chair and being dependent on others for the rest of his life was surely not an easy task for any one.
After several care givers had come and gone John Hamman took it upon himself to take care of William in all capacities. From bathing, dressing, feeding and even some of the medical assistance needed.
From this came a man that wanted to do more and create a place for those in need. Doing all kinds of functions and events for various organizations the need to do more just became more apparent to him.
Kidz Adventure Camp was started in 2011 after working with orphans, disabled and less fortunate children for more than 20 years before that. An important next step would be to register a NPC which could make things easier besides the legality there off.
Since 2011 Kidz Adventure Camp has become more and more involved with various other charities and NPO/NPC's and have spread thier wings to assist where they can. Fund raising for all Non Profits is a very difficult thing and we have to constantly come up with new and exciting ideas.
Moving forward Pindex will proudly be associated with Kidz Adventure Camp as we believe that great things can be achieved when we work together.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and God Bless...
Kidz AC will incorporate a GAP Year for children leaving the system at age 18 and assist with furthering studies and partnering with companies to create workspace for these children.
