Something that started with a long journey of 24+ hours and 3 flights, hopping on to a new city and getting on the go, has been an absolutely fantastic ride to date. The city of Brisbane, and my team of the Cities and Places at the office, treated me with a warm welcome, and had been grateful in quickly absorbing me within this new global space. I was extremely lucky to have 3 other Jacobs Go candidates, to be my partners in crime, travel, adventures, and have an awesome exchange of experiences that we usually share from around the globe from London to Poland, India, Philippines, NZ and land back to Australia. Snips from the journey through Brisbane, Cairns, Gold Coast, Tangalooma Islands, Mt Coot and a lot more!
The experience has been a learning curve, with many networking opportunities available through various JCN events such as morning tea’s, lunch and learn, etc.? Also got an opportunity to present at a Rapid 5-5-5 session to reach out and share our capabilities with the entire ANZ P&PS network.
Working at the office with the team in person, always starts with a refreshing 20min morning walk from the fab accommodation.
As a part of my tenure at the Brisbane office. I was involved in a couple of active transport placemaking and feasibility studies works. ?I was also an active part of the technical working group which focuses on enhancing digital skills. Additionally, I worked on setting up the Revit standards and templates for the team. The 6 months journey from July was absolutely nothing less than wonderful, with lots of travel, new experiences, people and indeed enriching.
