Professionals across industries are seeing how technology powered by AI is starting to play a bigger role in their day-to-day work. It’s an exciting moment of change, where these new AI technologies create an incredible opportunity to use these tools to work for us, so we can get more done and feel more fulfilled in our daily tasks.
Recruiters are a great example of this. They got into recruiting to help people get jobs. But so much of their time is filled with administrative tasks. And we know the job of recruiters is getting harder. Over half (55%) of HR professionals globally say expectations of them at work are higher than ever before, and 42% feel overwhelmed by how many decisions they have to make each day.
With new technologies we can change that. That's why today we’re excited to launch our first AI agent, Hiring Assistant, designed to take on a recruiter’s most repetitive tasks so they can spend more time on their most impactful work — like advising hiring managers, connecting with candidates, and creating exceptional candidate experiences. Hiring Assistant is in the hands of our own recruiters and available today in charter to a select group of LinkedIn customers, including AMD, Canva, Siemens, and Zurich Insurance.
“Recruiting is one of the most complex, yet important processes in business,” says Josh Bersin , industry analyst and CEO of The Josh Bersin Company. “AI agents have the potential to radically automate many steps, liberating recruiters to spend valuable time with job candidates and hiring managers. LinkedIn’s new Hiring Assistant is a trailblazing example of agentic AI to help any company improve speed and quality in the recruitment process.” ?
We’re also expanding our AI-powered coaching feature to help learners practice human skills through interactive scenarios using text or voice.?
Helping recruiters focus on the most strategic, people-centric tasks for their job
Recruiters often tell us about the joy they get connecting with job seekers, helping them open the door to new jobs and opportunities. But their day-to-day is filled with more time-consuming tasks, like synthesizing job descriptions, searching for candidates, and doing basic screening calls. In fact, recruiters tell us these types of tasks take up more than 20 hours of their week.
With Hiring Assistant, built with our agentic technology and paired with our unique platform insights of over 1 billion members, 68M companies, and 41K skills, we are helping recruiters do that by streamlining and improving every step of the hiring process.?
“At Canva, our people are at the heart of everything we do,” says Amy Schultz , global head of talent acquisition at Canva . “We believe individuals are far more than the bullet points on their resumes; understanding their true values, potential, and passions takes time and care. By leveraging LinkedIn's new Hiring Assistant to help streamline repetitive administrative tasks, we can give our hiring teams the space to focus on what truly matters — getting to know candidates as individuals.”?
Starting today, recruiters can choose to delegate time-consuming tasks to Hiring Assistant including finding candidates and assisting in applicant review, so they can focus on the most strategic, people-centric parts of their job. While recruiters will be able to spend significantly less time on these tasks, they will be in full control throughout the process.?
Hirers will be able to upload their job descriptions, intake notes, and job postings into Hiring Assistant and it will immediately translate that information into role qualifications and build a pipeline of qualified candidates. They will also be able to leverage Hiring Assistant to identify past applicants in their Applicant Tracking System, via Recruiter System Connect. Hirers will be in the loop and able to provide feedback on the candidates throughout the entire process, helping Hiring Assistant to continuously learn each recruiter’s preferences and become more personalized to each hirer.?
And with AI paired with our platform insights, we’ll continue to help with skills-based hiring by providing candidate recommendations based on skills, as opposed to traditional proxies like where someone went to school or previous employers.?
“At Siemens, our focus is on our people — which means it’s so important for our recruiters to have the time they need to get to know candidates and recognise the unique capabilities and perspectives that they bring to the table,” says Mike Demarest , a talent acquisition leader at Siemens . “We’re excited to be part of the charter for Hiring Assistant. It will take away some of the repetitive sourcing work so our team can get back to doing what we do best — helping people to find the right opportunities for their careers.”.??

Over the coming year, Hiring Assistant will also provide new messaging and scheduling support allowing recruiters to focus on the conversations, not the logistics. Hiring Assistant will provide automated candidate follow-ups that can respond to basic candidate questions about the role and manage interview coordination.
The impact of Recruiter 2024, our first generative AI hiring experience?
Last year, we began reimagining how people hire with Recruiter 2024 , our first generative AI hiring experience. And over the past year, we’ve seen how it’s helping hirers meet their goal of finding qualified candidates faster.?
We’ve found that hirers who use AI-assisted messages see a 44% higher acceptance rate and they are accepted over 11% faster by job seekers, compared with those who do not use AI-assisted messages. And AI-Assisted Search sessions saw an overall +18% higher InMail acceptance rate when compared with search sessions with manual filters.
Our customers have shared the impact Recruiter 2024 has made on their day-to-day:
“Doing a normal search before AI took upward of 15 minutes. Now, with AI-Assisted Search, it takes about 30 seconds to get results. The time saved is tremendous. It is so much more convenient and easier doing it this way,” says Victoria ?stryd S?derlind , senior recruitment specialist, Toyota Material Handling Europe .
“The AI features on LinkedIn have allowed our recruiters to do more, to be better, and to grow faster in all of our activities. It’s about spending time in the right places where our time is more valuable and LinkedIn’s AI features have enabled us to do that. What it’s not doing is removing great conversations with candidates, stopping our ability to ask them questions, or getting to know candidates as people and humans,” says Olivia Brown , head of talent acquisition, Octopus Energy .
“Our teams are experts in talent, and they are focused on helping businesses succeed by having the right people in the right roles. Partnering with LinkedIn’s AI-assisted messaging has enabled AMS teams to better source, attract and engage the talent our clients need — AMS consultants have sent more than 11,000 AI-assisted InMails this year, and our AI-assisted InMails have seen a 44% higher acceptance rate than the industry average benchmark,” says Jo-Ann Feely , chief innovation officer, AMS .
Helping companies build in-demand skills with new AI-powered coaching features
With the pace of change accelerating, talent professionals have a massive opportunity to help their organizations grow in two areas: AI and human skills. Organizations that help their teams build these skills will undoubtedly gain an edge.?
That’s why we’ve expanded our LinkedIn Learning library to over 1,000 AI courses. And we’re making three AI professional certificates for talent leaders free on LinkedIn Learning through the end of year.
And while it’s important to invest in AI skills, human skills cannot be overlooked. Our recent research found that over two-thirds (69%) of U.S. execs plan to prioritize hiring candidates with soft skills.
Last year, we began to help people build human skills at scale with the launch of AI-powered coaching in LinkedIn Learning. We’re excited to expand on it today by rolling out a new coaching feature that helps learners practice human skills through interactive scenarios using text or voice.?
Learners can practice delivering performance reviews, having conversations on work-life balance, and giving feedback. They will receive personalized feedback on strengths and areas of improvement in a safe, virtual environment, helping them feel more confident navigating similar conversations in the future. Over the coming year, learners will also get an AI-powered learning plan after each session that helps solve their specific problem.
