Finding a job can be a daunting task for anyone but as a person with a disability, we understand that the challenges you face might seem even greater.

Recent Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA) research also shows that 75% of employers believe employability skills are just as important, if not more important, than technical skills when hiring.

It's therefore more important than ever to demonstrate what you bring to the table when approaching job applications and interviews, to make sure you really stand out!

How can we help?

Each month this newsletter will collate all of our top tips and tricks to support you at every stage of your job search journey as a person living with physical disability and ultimately help you land your dream role.

Whether you haven't worked for a while or are already in work but looking to advance your career or try something different, there's something for everyone. Hey! ?? I'm Forrest and I have lived experience of disability. I had a downhill skiing crash in 2015 where I broke my neck leaving me quadriplegic.

What is your role at EmployAbility?

I'm an Employment Coach.

How do you help support job seekers living with disability?

I support job seekers with a disability by giving them tools to build resilience, confidence and independence in the search for a long-term, meaningful role with an inclusive employer.

What's one piece of advice you'd give to someone at the start of their job search journey?

It's not the strongest or the smartest, it's the ability to adapt that makes you survive!

And finally, one fun fact?

In my spare time, I like to ride adaptive mountain bikes.
