Hey there! ??
This is Arjun and I am the Co-Founder of Xperian.
As someone who spent over 12 years working with and teaching Designers, I noticed a common flaw in many Designers' approach to Graphics and User Interface Design. They don't kindle the sensibilities of design enough and overly rely on existing patterns, such as using the same fonts, blues, greys and whites over and over, which can make graphics and software visually dull and uninteresting. This led me to think —
Designing better graphics and software requires?exposure?of what good graphics and software look like. This is where taste starts to develop. And taste cannot be taught.
You could be a great Designer, Researcher, Product Manager or even a great Design Leader but what distinguishes you from the rest is?your?taste.
Tastefulness shows up in how you design your space, select your clothes, tell a story, choose your tools and finally expresses in your interface or product design choices. And the only way you develop taste is through nurturing every day and it starts with exposure to more good taste.?
“The mind, once stretched by a new idea, never returns to its original dimensions.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson
