We are excited to announce that Designsmith has received eight nominations at the upcoming CID Awards 2023. 1. Interior Fit-Out of the Year – F&B: Atrangi

Atrangi is a harmonious fusion of Indian ethnic charm and modernity. Nestled along the creekfront, this exquisite dining space exudes warmth and allure with natural wooden flooring, earthy-toned walls, and rattan furniture. The grand double-height entrance and central seating feature make Atrangi a standout project, overcoming architectural challenges while embracing Indian colours and patterns.

2. Interior Design of the Year: Healthcare - Kinesis

Kinesis embodies a minimalist design concept, prioritising a calming and organised atmosphere for healthcare facilities. Thoughtful colour, lighting, and design choices create a relaxing and free-flowing space for patients and staff. Biophilic elements blur the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces, fostering a relaxed atmosphere with natural materials like stone texture, sandstone tiling, and wood elements.

3. Interior Design of the Year: Healthcare - Dr. Joy’s Dental Clinic

Our design incorporates an earthy design philosophy, embracing groundedness and simplicity with nature-inspired materials. The soothing palette of browns, greens, and earth tones infuses the space with a natural ambiance, transforming the clinic into a refreshing nature retreat.

4. Best Outdoor Design of the Year - Mezza House

Mezza House, overlooking the iconic Burj Khalifa, offers a chic and colourful outdoor dining experience inspired by French garden style. Creamy and sandy beige tones, soft shadows of green, and stylish sandy-coloured pots and vases create warmth and intimacy. Accessories made from natural materials encourage exploration throughout the space, inviting guests to dine in elegance.

5. Best Interior Design Concept of the Year – F&B: Kream by Makaw

Kream by Makaw blends elements of Japandi and Wabi Sabi, featuring concrete textured walls and intricate lighting concepts. Organic materials and raw textures enhance the ambiance while reflecting our commitment to responsible design. The architectural approach towards the counter design showcases our dedication to innovative solutions.

6. Best Interior Design Concept of the Year – F&B: Yum Brands

The design draws inspiration from regional terrains, flora, and fauna, creating flowy dune-like workstations and oasis-like breakout spaces. The use of materials like concrete, wood, and pattern tiles enhances the ambiance, with the huddle cubicle resembling a KFC bucket standing out as a dramatic focal point.

7. Best Architectural Project of the Year: Casa Dei Milla Colori

Casa Dei Milla Colori embraces the inside-out architecture concept and incorporates biophilic design and minimalism. Natural stone, marble, sweeping glass walls, and abundant greenery create a fresh and arresting ambiance. Innovative solutions overcame building guideline limitations, making this project truly remarkable.

8. Interior Fit-Out of the Year – Residential, Retail & Leisure: Private Penthouse

This duplex penthouse in Za'abeel offers picturesque views of Dubai's skyline and the Dubai Frame. Contemporary materials and finishes reflect the owner's modern taste, with neutral and tropical colours, wood, marble, and onyx creating a natural scheme. This penthouse is a testament to simplicity and minimalism.
