Introducing Dataphant - An open source demo ChatGPT application; Explore, Manage, Analize, Summarise any Document

Together with our partners at Strongbytes , we are thrilled to present Dataphant, the result of a collaborative effort to give companies a simple way to test and explore how they can use ChatGPT.

Dataphant is our first step in working on solutions that will allow companies to connect custom data sources (like Confluence, Jira, Google Drive, etc), in this current version just PDF documents, and make use of ChatGPT functionalities to query, analyze and summarize information locked into all these databases.

Whether the use case you have in mind is to enhance customer support, delve into complex contract clauses, or explore other ideas, our demo app is an easy way to try it out.

With Dataphant, you can easily upload PDF documents from your company (please avoid uploading anything confidential) and then use the power of ChatGPT to instantly obtain a comprehensive overview of any document, effortlessly summarizing complex data sets and allowing you to grasp key details at a glance.?

As we were building this demo app, we had valuable discussions with our customers about which platform/model will be is right (e.g. OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, self hosted) choice for their different use cases, avoiding lock-in, dealing privacy in handling personal data, and cost-effective training methods for smaller models.

We are excited to explore in the near future how these challenges can be addressed so companies can unlock the data they have and use it with public, cloud or privately hosted LLMs.

• Built with React and Node.js
• Using the the text-davinci-003 model from Open AI API for text completion (packing the answers answers in nice human tone)
• Using the text-embedding-ada-002 model from Open AI API for text embedding
• Prisma as the vector database

The version we are releasing today is our first step in building the expertise we need to help companies use Gen AI-powered solutions in their business processes.
