I recently met and had lunch with a team member Cole, a dynamic Ramp Agent here at Delta Air Lines . Cole's journey is a testament to determination and ambition. Recently joined the company a few months ago, he has already left an indelible mark with his work ethic and enthusiasm.

Cole and I engaged in an insightful discussion about his career trajectory. He shared his aspiration to transition to our General Office, aiming first to immerse himself fully in the company's operations from the ground level.

By choosing to delve into the frontline operations, Cole is deviating from the conventional collegiate route that often leads directly to corporate roles. This approach reflects his deep commitment to understanding the nuances of our business, starting right at the heart of where it all happens.

I have immense respect for Cole's decision to embark on this path, valuing a hands-on understanding of our operations and the dedicated people at the forefront.

A recent graduate in 2022 (Bachelor of Science: Business Administration) from Piedmont University, Cole is eagerly awaiting his MBA completion from his alma mater this December 2023. It's remarkable to realize that he has achieved such impressive milestones at the young age of 23.

His academic rigor, coupled with his experience as a resident assistant and an athlete in track and field and cross country, showcases a blend of leadership and teamwork.

Superpowers Unleashed

Cole stands out with his exceptional communication, time management, and analytical skills. His ability to exceed expectations and his commitment to quality make him a valuable team player. Cole's dedication to meeting both his and the company's high standards is a testament to his character.

Journey to Delta

Cole's path began during his MBA, leading him to the role of a Ramp Agent. His deep dive into ground operations has provided him with a unique understanding of the airline industry.

His current focus on learning about the Aircraft Loading Agent (ALA) position underscores his commitment to continuous learning.

Life Beyond the Ramp

• Passions/Hobbies: When not working, Cole finds solace in reading and stays active with running and working out.
• Fun Fact: Cole is training to do an iron man! An event that consists of swimming 2.4 miles, biking 112 miles, and running 26.2 miles.
• Favorite Fuel: Cole's love for Hispanic cuisine, especially tamales and pozole, speaks to his vibrant taste. His description of the flavorsome pozole is nothing short of mouthwatering.
• Inspirational Mantra: Cole lives by the philosophy, "Embrace the suck." This mindset helps him navigate challenges, reminding him that perseverance leads to rewarding outcomes.

The Delta Day-to-Day

As a Ramp Agent, Cole prioritizes safety. If the ground can utilize safe practices, then not only are our workers protected but so are our aircraft.

This means continuous on-time departures and reduced risk for our people, an all-around benefit for the company. Cole finds joy in the camaraderie and lessons learned from his colleagues.

The Delta Dream Scenario

Looking ahead, Cole aspires to move into leadership roles within our General Office, with interests in project management, human resources, and marketing. Delta TA, be on the lookout for this rising star! I have a knack for sourcing Rockstar talent.

Learning and Growth

Keen on enhancing his computer skills, Cole is especially focused on mastering Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

The Delta Impact

While new to the company, Cole has already demonstrated his business acumen through the Glo-Bus business simulation during his undergraduate studies, ranking in the top 100 teams worldwide. During this 8-week simulation, it involved knowing various parts of the business such as marketing the product, pricing strategies in different locations analyzing financials, and much more.
