What is a Pillar Page?

Essentially, a Pillar Page is your BEST effort in producing comprehensive content on a key topic in your niche. Typically ranging in the 3k to 6k word length range, you build these pages to have a serious cluster of keyword variety in and around the topic.

For example, if you’re a real estate agent, you might write an extensive blog piece on all the steps to take before selling a home. How to sell a home in neighbourhood X. Pillar Pages create an internal weave in and out of your blog content.

A common step to selling a home is to do a home inspection, and so you might write a supporting blog piece that elaborates on this subtopic that you can link to in your pillar page. A common pillar page will have 10-15 supporting blog posts that you publish over time.

Why Pillar Pages?

A Pillar Page with supporting cluster content creates a healthy ecosystem of content that improves your chances to rank well for your target keywords. It increases traffic surrounding your site through SEO and through internal linking, will improve the time your audience spends on your blog.
