I have heard so much hype about ChatGPT and other AI chatbots that have launched onto the internet, so thought I would have a go, and see what it has to say about itself:
?
I asked the following question:
The massive hype around the AI chatbot has led it to overtake TikTok to become the fastest growing internet trend ever. ?Explain what ChatGPT is and how it works, discuss the different ways businesses and individuals are using it and talk about the potential benefits to business, and the risks to watch out for.
ChatGPT responded:
As an AI chatbot, I can answer your questions and engage in conversations with you. ChatGPT is designed to understand natural language inputs from users and generate relevant responses. The technology behind ChatGPT is based on deep learning neural networks, which are trained on large datasets of text to learn patterns and relationships between words and phrases.
In terms of how it works, ChatGPT uses natural language processing (NLP) techniques to analyse user inputs and generate responses. It can understand and respond to a wide range of topics and queries, ranging from general knowledge questions to more specific domain-specific queries.
Businesses and individuals are using ChatGPT in various ways, such as:
The potential benefits of using ChatGPT for businesses include increased efficiency and productivity, improved customer service and engagement, and personalized experiences for customers and employees. However, there are also risks to watch out for, such as potential errors or biases in the AI-generated responses, data privacy and security concerns, and the need to balance automation with human interaction and oversight. Businesses need to carefully evaluate their use of ChatGPT and ensure they have proper safeguards in place to mitigate these risks.
What are the risks of using ChatGPT - ?are all the facts correct?
Response: There are several risks associated with using ChatGPT that businesses and individuals should be aware of, including:
It's important to note that not all facts generated by ChatGPT may be correct or accurate. ChatGPT generates responses based on the patterns it has learned from the data it was trained on, but it may not have access to all the information necessary to generate a fully accurate response. Additionally, the responses generated by ChatGPT may be influenced by biases or inaccuracies in the training data, as well as any errors or limitations in the AI algorithms themselves.
To mitigate these risks, businesses and individuals using ChatGPT should carefully evaluate the quality and accuracy of the data used to train the AI model, monitor the AI-generated responses for accuracy and bias, and establish clear guidelines and procedures for managing sensitive information and ensuring data privacy and security. Additionally, businesses and individuals should be aware that ChatGPT is not a substitute for human expertise and judgment, and should use it in conjunction with human oversight and interaction.

Double Check the ChatGPT ‘facts’
?
Previously I had asked a question to ChatGPT. to give me some examples of a high-profile email hack, that I could use within a blog…?This is what it came up with:
One example of a Business Email Compromise in the UK is the case of the Red Arrows. In 2019, the Red Arrows, the UK's aerobatic display team, fell victim to a BEC scam where the attackers had compromised the email account of a team member and sent a fake invoice to the finance department of the team. The invoice requested payment for a non-existent service and the payment was made to the attacker's bank account. The incident resulted in the loss of thousands of pounds. This serves as a reminder for businesses to be vigilant about the potential for BEC scams and to implement security measures such as multi-factor authentication and employee training to help prevent such attacks.

However, I double checked the ‘facts’ and found they were completely made up – I could find no record anywhere, not on Google, Explorer, National Cyber Security Centre or Red Arrows themselves…
