Introducing The Case For Reinvention

I'm going to start this newsletter the way I start many of my newsletters...SCHOOL SUCKS!

I use those two words intentionally to stir up emotions in you, the reader. I hope that it makes you say, "Yeah, you're so right, school sucks and we should do something about it." But I'm also happy if you say, "I just don't think that's true." I'm talking to both of you and everyone in between.

School/formal education is the one topic that everyone has experienced in the United States. You were or might be a student. You were or might be a teacher. You may have school-aged kids right now.

Everyone has some experience with school. For too many of us, the words "school sucks" describe our school experience.

This is why schoolish exists.

No CAP? Actually, yes to CAP!

If you follow me and engage with my content on Linkedin (thank you so much) you may have heard a little bit about something called the Linkedin Creator Accelerator Program!

Starting TODAY, this 10-week incubator-style program will provide 100 U.S. based creators - selected from the thousands who applied - coaching, a built-in creator network, opportunities to be featured on?LinkedIn?channels, and a $15,000 grant to help us continue to share content, spark conversations, and build communities.

I am ecstatic to be a part of that program and have been loving the community we are building as creators so far. But that little description doesn't tell you what is happening during the 10 weeks! I'm rolling out a series of content that is...well...just for YOU! By you, I mean it is for anyone who has any sort of experience with school or formal education. So...yes...all of you.

My 10-week creator project is going to be a living museum of graphics, videos, and articles like this one that make the case that education, as we know it, should be completely reinvented. Not only that, I am going to show you some ways YOU can be a part of the process of reinvention.

You'll hear from experts in multiple fields including education, sports, tech, hospitality and you will hear from students themselves.

At the end of this 10-week experience, my hope is that you'd roll your sleeves up with me to dismantle and invent a new system for teaching and learning.
