Introducing the Bootstrappers' Book Club??
Lighter Capital
The leader in Revenue-Based Financing. Non-dilutive, quick, and easy financing to empower your startup’s growth.
While it’s not always easy for busy entrepreneurs to find the time and space to read, we know there’s more than just knowledge and inspiration to be gained from turning pages. Reading helps improve sleep, memory, cognitive function, and mood. As you settle into the flow of reading your breathing slows and your muscles relax, which is beneficial to both your mental and physical health.
So, next time you have a few hours on a plane or you’re winding down before bed, open up a book instead of responding to emails, doomscrolling through your LinkedIn feed, or anything else that can wait a few hours.
We’re always hearing about books founders and CEOs in our startup community find particularly valuable. Some are staples — you’ll find them on nearly every book list for SaaS entrepreneurs and startup founders. Others are hidden gems, or useful books that don’t fit neatly into the entrepreneurship category that leaders say offer new perspectives for growth. We wanted to share this wealth of knowledge with more founders.
Today, we’re excited to officially launch Lighter Capital’s Bootstrappers’ Book Club.?
Each month, we’ll feature the best books on entrepreneurship, leadership, being a good/better person, taking care of yourself, and so much more. It’s for tech entrepreneurs looking for ideas and inspiration that, like them, are a little different. We’ll announce the book once a month and post a discussion thread here on LinkedIn at the end of the month. So be sure to follow us and turn on your notifications, if you haven’t already, to join in.
This month we’re featuring a book on business leadership and culture, recommended by the CEO of one of Lighter Capital’s portfolio companies. Check it out!

What we’re reading
Tribal Leadership: Leveraging Natural Groups to Build a Thriving Organization by Dave Logan and John King
What it’s about, in 50 words or less
Tribal Leadership explores how to transform organizational cultures in the workplace through the dynamics of tribal behavior within groups.
What will you learn?
This month’s book was recommended by Mark Miller, CEO and Chairman of TicketSocket . Here’s what he had to say about it:
“A book that’s really important from an entrepreneurial perspective, is “Tribal Leadership” by Dave Logan and John King. We’ve taken this ‘Knights of the Round Table’ approach to culture [at TicketSocket] where everybody has an equal say in things and can bring up any idea — we learned a lot about this mentality from Tribal Leadership. It’s a great book that explains the methodology behind building a tribe within a company.”
