Introducing the Best Banks in America 2024-2025
Choosing the right bank can feel like a serious commitment. Most people only switch banks a few times throughout their lifetime; often centered around major life events that change your banking needs (think moving to a new state, getting married, or retiring). If you're going to settle down with a bank for the next several years (and let's be honest, who wants to jump around?) it's important to take into account what what matters most to you.
For the 2024-2025 edition of Best Banks, Money evaluated more than 275 financial institutions, including national, online and regional banks and credit unions. We looked at hundreds of data points covering minimum deposit requirements, annual percentage yields, fees and other features like customer service and convenience.
For the first time ever, Money has a special list for the Best Banks for Digital Investing, reflecting a rise in financial institutions that give customers the opportunity to centralize all of their finances in one place with access to a user interface they are familiar and comfortable with while growing their investments right alongside their savings.
As always, we also have special lists for groups with particular banking needs, including students, seniors and members of the military.
Also new this year, we've expanded our regional and state offerings. Check out the best banks in your area:
