Introducing BanqueSIM, a Smartsheet-based interactive simulation encompassing real-life banking decisions with real-time results, written as a learning tool, not a game.
In partnership with CT Bankers Association, we will be offering and managing this tool for use in banking industry programs, colleges and universities, after a successful launch of the model this past April at the CT School for Financial Management. In 2024, The Barret Graduate School of Banking will be deploying BanqueSIM in a new and exciting program offering designed for top-level banking executives.
?The key game-changers? Real-time results (interactive Balance Sheet, P&L, Sources & Uses, Key Performance Indicators), an interactive rate board, an investment portfolio based on real CUSIPs, with an embedded bond re-pricing formula, attention to the accuracy of historical rates, and an algorithm for residential mortgage market values. Strategic operating choices offer insight into the cost-benefit calculus for adding/subtracting lenders, investing in targeted marketing campaigns, and core and loan origination system deployments. The model is built on years, not quarters, thus amplifying rate impacts without unrealistic wild quarterly swings. All tied to a case study built to be leverageable throughout the curriculum. With full cloud-based collaboration, a results dashboard, an optional strategic staffing add-on, a choice of three or four decision years, and scalability of the base-line “banque” to an asset size relevant to your audience.
