Introduce Yourself...Fast!
People read faster than you can speak so why not let people know about yourself visually during a presentation? I've been using this word-cloud when I speak at conferences and summits. I'll introduce the slide by saying, "The big words mean more to me but the small words also represent experiences that contribute to who I am" (pause)
When the audience reads the slide, it's a very personal and connecting moment because the words resonate with each individual. This creates impressions, conjures up memories, generates feelings, in the audience. Common bonds are found, and we can relate to each other.
From the moment you step onto the stage people are asking, "Who are you?" "Why should I listen?" It isn't a right that's given, it is earned. You have limited time, use this to connect to as many people as possible.
Communicating a crafted message visually:
- Use color and font to differentiate important and less important but meaningful.
- Before speaking, its fun to read, reflect, and remember important achievements in life, experiences to share. And,
- Hidden treasure words are sprinkled in here and there, revealed to the audience when appropriate.
Feel free to use the idea in your next presentation.
I'd love to hear how it works for you!

...just do it- now ;-)
7 年...great tips, Keith Carter! Thank you for posting it! I`ve held lots of lectures over the years but I never look at my presentations from this point of view... It`s a great option for introduction!
