Introduce Data Viz to kids with this Email Course

Introduce Data Viz to kids with this Email Course

?? Summer is finally here, and parents everywhere are on the lookout for the perfect summer camps and activities to keep their kids entertained and engaged. While there's no shortage of options like coding schools or traditional camps, I believe that the most valuable and rewarding way to spend this time is by bonding with your children and learning together.

As many of you already know, I have been passionately experimenting with teaching my own kids about data visualization in a screen-free environment. This journey has inspired me to write my upcoming book, "Drawing Data with Kids," where I share my experiences and insights.

Now, I'd like to invite you to join me on another exciting experiment. Rather than offering the entire course at once, I've created a unique email course that unfolds over the span of 5 weeks.

Here's how it works:

  1. Sign up for the course by commenting "Yes" on the post and filling this form. I'll need your email address to send you the weekly activities.
  2. For next 5 weeks, each week you'll receive an email from me containing a screen-free activity that you can do with your kids to introduce them to the fascinating world of data visualization.
  3. After completing the activity, post a note or/and a picture of it in the community page. By doing so, you'll inspire others and create a positive learning environment.
  4. You will not receive the next email unless you complete the above step. This will make you accountable.

The aim of this course is not merely to teach data visualization techniques, but to spark a love for it within your children. We want to nurture their curiosity and imagination.

So, let's embark on this enriching journey together and make this summer a time of exploration and growth!

Please drop a "Yes" in the comment section to help someone else see this and benefit from it.

Wishing you a summer filled with joyful learning and memorable moments!

Hello Drawing Data with Kids community! I'm thrilled to share the 1st week assignment 'Timeline Viz' created by my 10-year-old daughter. She put together a list of her favorite books, which inspired her and helped her sharpen the reading and comprehension skills. Thank you Gulrez Khan for this opportunity to explore the world of data storytelling. We look forward to learning more data visualization techniques in the upcoming week.
