Intolerance To Change

Our Psychological Resistance to Change
We have two main sources of resistance to change. One is biological and the other is psychological. For the past 500 million years living in herds as provided safety. It also breeds intolerance. You are either part of the herd or you are a threat to the herd – the enemy. Families, sports teams, clubs, schools, degrees, companies, religions, cities and countries are examples of our herds. We are either in the group or viewed as a potential threat to that group.
Our unconscious habit of giving away our energy and the subsequent need to steal the energy of others underlies all chaos, conflict and war. Our need to steal and complete for the energy of others underlies all chaos and conflict. We feel weak, insecure and lacking so they seek to increase our energy by stealing it from others. This underlies all human conflict and governs the need for us to control and manipulate others. It explains chaos, wars and the failure of business and personal relationships. We feel better temporarily when we can control others. Most people go through life unconsciously giving away their energy while simultaneously stealing the energy of others.
The development of your authentic, emotionally intelligent leadership is the key to tolerance and change. A victim cannot remain a victim unless they surround themselves with other victims. They must travel in packs, or herds, because they are each other’s negative energy food. But they do not like each other; they do not trust each other and they would never lower their walls around each other. Like energy attracts like energy. Whether in business or the home court advantage often referred to in sports the energy we surround ourselves with has a huge impact on our results. Emotions, whether positive or negative, spread like an energy virus throughout an organization. Your authenticity and emotional intelligence leads to trust and higher levels of engagement. This is the new economic currency.
Tolerance and Global Interaction
Your network of trusted relationships is now the most valuable asset you and your organization have. The global economic value of these networks is growing much faster than the traditional economy. The current market value is estimated at over $10 Trillion per year which would make it the 2nd largest economy in the world. Networking in an authentic way by developing your emotional intelligence will enable you to develop and nourish these relationships. If you take the time to invest in these relationships, by investing in yourself, they will invest in you as well.
We need more, not less, tolerance and global human interaction. Trust is an emotion that is given to us by others. It is up to us, as individuals and organizations, to earn that trust by demonstrating our trustworthiness. Integrity, competence and reliability are evidence of our trustworthiness. Our authentic, emotionally intelligent actions earn rather than burn trust. Without trust nothing else matters. Trust is the prism through which all business success must pass. Businesses must provide useful information while demonstrating radical transparency to be trustworthy. Your service must provide insights that goes beyond simply providing information. Without trust nothing else matters. Trust is the prism through which all business success must pass. Businesses must provide useful information while demonstrating radical transparency to be trustworthy. Your service must provide insights that goes beyond simply providing information. The development of your authenticity and emotional intelligence will enable you to out care the competition.
In order to become a trusted advisor to those you serve you must understand the gap between their current reality and their desired results by asking lots and lots of questions. You can help them to identify the emotional gap of dissatisfaction between where they are and where they want to be and why closing that gap is so important to them. We get paid for serving others in three ways – money, trust and referrals. Trust can be earned from those we serve if are able to demonstrate trustworthiness. It is up to us, as individuals and organizations, to earn that trust. Our integrity, competence and reliability provide evidence of our trustworthiness. When you provide a new perspective on a problem that your client has not been able to solve you earn a level of trust and respect. When you are able to articulate their wants, needs and challenges better than they can to themselves, you have passed a tipping point in the relationship where you become a trusted advisor. From that point on, as you continue to add value to the relationship they will continue to eagerly receive it.

9 年great idea

9 年The demand for "respect" .....for the ego...admiration....false hope...romantic ideas about love and friendship...! Basically a greeting card kind of life! Means nothing...but the self does not let go of that!

9 年The dull....terribly boring "self" which identifies with a thick "group"..."organization"...offers the greatest resistance! An "individual" is always a threat...! Which is so amusing..! I guess its all about who overcomes the "irritations" of life..and its demands...first!!
