As Intesa turns nine, we're confident in what matters

3,285. That’s a big number. It’s also the number of days Intesa Communications Group has been in business. When August 12th?rolls around each year, as a mom of two kids, I tend to view Intesa’s anniversary as its birthday. The company I started in 2012, after moving to San Diego from Washington D.C., is truly my third child, and it’s filled with people I love and celebrate every day.?

In nine years, we’ve grown quite a bit: we’ve built a best-in-show team, an impressive roster of clients, a strong track record of public relations and government relations campaign successes, and we’ve earned a stellar reputation. All of this makes Team Intesa and its mom immensely proud.?

However, I must admit that something feels different this year. It’s not just because we’ve been cultivating and growing a small business throughout a historic pandemic that is the roller coaster ride we all wish would end. It’s because through this extraordinary time, what really matters has become perfectly clear.??

We’ve always talked about our company values, but the pandemic in which we are living keeps turning and twisting. It’s forcing us to “walk the walk.”?

We always say we’re “humans-first,”?but the compassion and care we show each other and our clients these days means more now than ever, and I believe it makes Intesa colleagues quite special.

We like to say “we do our best work” for people and causes we believe in. We’ve now shown that we can do that while juggling global uncertainty, working from home, and in some cases, building the plane as we’re flying it.??

Nine years in, we’ve found our superpower: nothing can get in our way of helping humans communicate with confidence in opportunity, crisis, or organizational transition.?

In the game of entrepreneurship, each time you level up, the playing field gets harder. Bring it on. Even on the most challenging days, it is a privilege to be a part of work that matters with people I genuinely adore. I’m prayerfully grateful to be on this journey.?
