Interviews: Expanding Horizons in Architecture and Construction in 2024

Interviews represent a versatile and highly relevant tool for gaining insights, understanding diverse perspectives, and facilitating decision-making, while also fostering communication across a wide range of personal, professional, and academic scenarios. Their flexibility allows for various approaches, from open and unpredictable dialogues between interviewer and interviewee to focused and precise questions aimed at extracting specific information. This diversity of methods enables a comprehensive exploration of topics while deepening mutual understanding among participants, thereby expanding knowledge on the subjects and individuals in focus. This is particularly pertinent in our field, where there are no absolute rights or wrongs; instead, we navigate through various approaches, refine processes, and innovate in diverse ways.

Throughout over 10 years at ArchDaily, we've amassed hundreds of interviews, offering valuable perspectives on the world of architecture and construction. In this new edition of the Building Future Newsletter, which will now be published monthly, we've compiled some significant interviews from recent years covering themes that are dear to us, such as prefabrication, alternative materials, innovation, and sustainability in the broadest sense.

In your opinion, are interviews good sources of knowledge? Are there any interesting topics or professionals that you would like to see interviewed? Share your thoughts, and stay tuned for our upcoming edition.

The concept of the future building is compelling, I'm reminded that readiness is essential. Although, knowledge is not finite, it stands out as the indispensable resource crucial for sustaining the present into the future in harmony and what better way to do so than being guided by the professionals engaged in the construction of sustainable cities worldwide, spanning architects, urban planners, waste management experts and economists. While I can't pinpoint specific individuals, discussions on bridging community and culture in our digital age captivate my interest.
