Interviewing vs. Performing or Convincing

What exactly is the difference between effective interviewing and “performing or convincing” that is subtly veiled as interviewing…

?

This is SOO important. ?


Especially when we're talking about the things that need to happen for an authentic Hell Yes offer to become your reality… (which is what I'm teaching you inside My upcoming FREE 3 day training!) ?


So, let me be crystal clear:?


There are ZERO performance strategies or convincing tactics covered in my training. ?


You will NOT learn “how to perform for their approval”.?


You will NOT learn how to “convince” or “try to be” any certain contrived way in the attempt of trying to get someone to hire you. ?


To me this is a super disempowering way to pursue your career dreams!

So, what are we doing instead?


What IS ethically interviewing actually as yourself? (Which is much easier said than done btw)...


??It puts your authenticity and genuine care for yourself (and others) first, above “an offer at all costs”. ?


??It centers what you communicate around truth and transparency that you feel comfortable and aligned with, but doesn’t hurt your chances with the right company, or “air all your dirty laundry out”. ?


When those values compete with the aim of "I have to convince them to hire me" (which, let's be honest, we’ve all done), I’ve done it and I ended up in the wrong role more than once!?? ?


??We don't ask, "what can I say to get them to hire me?" Instead, we ask, "what can I do to create real, mutually meaningful relationships with people whom I can work with to create good-for-everyone results and benefits for the long term?" ?


Not because we don't want money. We totally do and you’ll make lots and the most aligned money this way!?? ?


But because we care more about creating a strong foundation, and reputation, we care more about the match than the offer. ?


Because we care more about sustainable relationships that can open doors in the future for ourselves or others. ?


And we believe that we can do our best work, have the most positive impact, and make the best living that way. ?


And from that foundation, you will learn about the things that need to happen on a psychological level so that we can be more EFFECTIVE and STRATEGIC when we market ourselves, prepare for our interviews, and execute on what we’ve learned. ?


THAT is what real Interviewing is. It’s NOT performing.


It’s not looking for others to validate you. It’s not “convincing” anyone.? ?
