For the past eight years, WCBS has asked me to interview New Jersey children who are battling cancer with the help of the Valerie Fund. The organization was founded in 1976 and has helped thousands of children and their families navigate and survive this difficult experience. My interviews air each year in the week the Fund holds its annual fundraising walk in Verona Park. This year's walk is being held this Saturday, June 9. You can link to the first of my five reports this week from my Twitter feed: https://twitter.com/jcmetaxas
Today's report features an eight-year-old girl who may be the most intelligent eight-year-old I have interviewed in my three decades as a journalist. From the Tweet you can link to the WCBS audio as well as the Valerie Fund's feed.
