In this interview you will learn from a world-class speaker (frequent guest speaker at Tony Robbins' seminars!) and extremely successful business owner Eric Edmeades a lot of tips on personal development and public speaking tools. Amongst others you will learn how to get started as a public speaker and what to do if you already have a bit of success. Furthermore, many of challenges that surely arises as a when striving for success are answered in this talk.
Shownotes (links to further tips see the bottom!):
When starting out a speaker do the following:
? Join Toastmasters to get started as a speaker
? Watch Youtube videos and evaluate the speakers, e.g. body language, voice, content etc.
? Get a mentor! Find someone who has a proven track record of what you want to be doing.
Practice by making Youtube videos and use google hangout to do live speeces to enhance your focus as people will be watching.
Storytelling is the key to great presentations. Practice not just on stage by telling stories, but when ever you have the chance, e.g. with friends, family, etc. Practice the stories because it is makes a big difference if it is the first time you tell them or have told them many times. This takes time and practice.
Surround yourself with people who have success. For instance Eric twice a year meets with friends and others who are highly successful and keeps learning from them.
Some of Erics favorite speeches are by Ken Robinson (Tedtalk), Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy, but also fictional speeches such as one from Jack Nicholsen can be used as an inspiration.
In order to get success and financial freedom Eric suggest focusing on one area until this area is well-established and can leave room and time for other areas. Try not to let your business be dependent on you so you can have more freedom in terms of time.
Eric will be coming to Denmark for a one-day seminar on 30 April 2016 and a 5-day seminar starting June 15 2016.
