Interview on the Use of AI in Creative Professions. Question 2.

Recently, I was invited by a master's student to share my perspectives and experiences with AI text-to-image generators like DALL-E 2, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, and others. In a thorough interview, I answered ten poignant questions on this exciting topic. If you're curious about these questions and my views on them, I warmly invite you to take a look. And if you have additional thoughts or questions about it, I would love to hear from you. What is your current personal opinion on this?

Creativity through AI: Beyond Traditionally Acquired Skills.

I find it extremely fascinating that people who have not developed artistic or design skills over decades are now able to express their creativity. There are certainly criticisms, especially of those who now call themselves 'AI Artists', and there are certainly good arguments for this. Nevertheless, I generally consider it positive that people now have the opportunity to develop their creativity and self-efficacy in this way.

?I will outline my detailed opinion on the copyright situation and the potential misuse through the training of AI models in the following questions.

Blind Technology Hype: The Ethical Risk.

However, the idea that there will always be people who blindly follow the hype around new technologies, without the necessary ethical considerations, is concerning to me, as it could potentially have catastrophic consequences.

AI: From Profit Maximization to a Post-Need Society.

As a society, we will have to deal with the resulting consequences. But I see in AI the opportunity to explore and experiment with new social structures. It may even be possible to transform our growth-oriented society into a post-need society. I found it very inspiring to read in the book 'The Dawn of Everything' by David Graeber and David Wengrow how indigenous societies in North America tried out different social models. Perhaps despite the profit maximization of some individuals, we can be similarly creative with social structures. This could allow us to adapt them to leap into a better future for all people - with the help of AI.
