Interview with Tim Barry of "Dad Lounge" for Houston Comedy Film Festival
Why did you start entering film festivals?
I started entering festivals to be seen. I felt like I was ready as a filmmaker to grow and take the risk of being judged and hopefully win.
How did you get starting in film making?
When I was around 8 or 9, I used my parents mini tape camera and edited on iMovie. I was pretty obsessed with it off the bat and it was my first hobby.
Overall, how has the experience been so far with the Houston Comedy Film Festival?
It's been an awesome experience. The festival reached out to me personally about the status of Dad Lounge which I really appreciate. The lead judge, Jonathan, wrote me a quick and sweet note on why he liked my film and I think that it's an impressive standard for festivals.
Do you have any more film projects that we can look forward to enjoying at our festivals in the future?
There's a short film I directed, Letters From The War, that the team and I are really proud of. Once there's in person attendance, the EP plans on submitting it and I think it'd be a great fit in the program. As well, I'm planning on shooting more shot content I've developed this year.
What does the future hold for you in the entertainment industry?
I can answer this accurately at a later time. Hopefully working on projects I love with people I love.
