Each month, we come up with a challenge for our students at Evyrgreen. We want you to get the MOST out of LinkedIn, so join us in this challenge.
Find three people in your network that you can interview, then ask them questions about their business. For example:
What are the 3 MOST common questions people ask you about your business?
What are 2 things that you want your center of influence to know about you?
What are the most important keywords or key phrases you want to be known about?
Collect those answers and SHARE THEM on LinkedIn as an article.
What does that do for you? It helps you get three things done.
- You are top of mind with your center of influence that is in the position to refer business for you.
- You get to know your center of influence more, and you can learn more about how you can help them in their business.
- You are now promoting them to your network by sharing this information, and you give them exposure, which builds even more influence.
Go ahead and tag three people that you want to interview IN THE COMMENTS.
Here are the 3 people I interviewed.
I first interviewed Chris Vaglio because he is a wonderful person in my network that I trust.
The 3 most common questions Chris gets asked are:
- How do I become more visible to my clients and connections?
- What should I create content about?
- What is my personal brand and how do I create one?
Chris answers each of these questions by helping people switch their mindsets, and by assisting them in working through the roadblocks they often create for themselves. Chris then helps them create a system based on what their goals are and integrates this into their business.
Everyone's a little different, and Chris wants to respect that and utilize their core strengths.
Here are the 2 things Chris wants his center of influencers to know about him:
- That I’m great connector and value the power of great relationships,
- I’m also easy to work with and do not overcomplicate things, I want to help make life easier not harder.
Here are the most important key phrase or keywords that Chris wants to be known for: personal branding, content creation, engagement, and relationships.
The next person I interviewed for this was Brynne Tillman.
Here are the 3 most common questions that people ask Brynne:
- What kind of content works on LinkedIn that can help me grow my business?
Content that does the following 5 things for your audience:
1. Resonates with your buyers
2. Creates curiosity
3. Teaches them something new
4. Gets them thinking differently about their current situation
5. Gives them a reason to raise their hand and ask for more
2. Should I use automation with LinkedIn?
No. For two major reasons...
1. It breaks LinkedIn’s user agreement and you can get shut down
2. LinkedIn as a mass lead gen tool does not work. You will turn off way more people than you will attract... burning bridges with your targeted market and hurting your reputation. There is no easy button to building relationships.
3. Is Sales Navigator worth it?
Yes, if you use it. Often, similar to a gym membership, you buy it, show up a few times and never go again, but keep paying every month. However, if you know the best machines, weight, and reps to use to get the outcome you want, commit to a few hours a week, consistently and know when it’s arm day and leg day... you will succeed. In other words, have a solid plan with an easy to follow cadence and schedule the time in your calendar and Sales Navigator will become your most effective sales tool.
Here are the 2 things Brynne wants her center of influencers to know about her:
- My favorite moments are when people I have influenced succeed.
2. I love to learn from really smart people.
These are the words that Brynne wants to be known for!
Mastering LinkedIn for Social Selling
Finally, I wanted to interview the sales coach Jeff Goldberg
I asked Jeff about what questions most people ask him, and here is what he said:
- How do I make more money with sales?
There is more than one component to this answer, but the bottom line is that you have to be better and more consistent in your prospecting efforts, and you have to understand the fundamentals of selling.
- How do I stop people from “ghosting” me?
Always set the next meeting or phone call before leaving the current meeting or phone call (Best Next Action Step)
3. What’s the best way to close a deal?
Closing is the natural outcome of the sales process done right… there are specific words I teach people to use when asking for business, but the most important thing is to do everything that comes before that correctly.
Here are the 2 things Jeff wants his center of influencers to know about him:
- They can 100% count on me to make them look good to anyone they refer me to.
- Introductions to both individual salespeople (who are interested in increasing their sales) and organizations with 10 or more salespeople are equally good introductions.
The most important keywords and phrases that Jeff wants to be known for are:
Sales coach
Sales expert
Sales trainer
Sales improvement
As a bonus, these are the things Jeff does, and what he believes his prospects are searching for:
Intelligent - Funny - Sexy
YES! He is the real deal. SO FUNNY! LOL
Anyways, I hope that you got value from this and that you are able to take the March Challenge with me and our students! Who will you be interviewing?
Mention 3 people in the comments, and let Jeff, Brynne and Chris know that you saw them being featured when you connect with them on LinkedIn!
