Interview Tech Twin Towns: Berlin - Tel Aviv
So you are from Tel Aviv. What's the story behind your company coming to Berlin?
Glispa is a digital marketing company in which we invested in earlier this year. What we like about Berlin is that it has a strong mobile focus with many young and progressive university graduates and entrepreneurs flocking to it. Being a huge tech hub, it attracts top-notch experts from all over the world who bring along their talents and culture. Actually, the cultural aspect and diversity are an extremely important part of your strategy if you operate worldwide, like glispa does.
And individually? How much time are you spending in Berlin per month?
I generally spend around 1-2 weeks a month in our main headquarter in Berlin. I like this city’s energy, spirit and vibe and I’d love to be there even more often if I could. But being involved in many activities, it’s just not possible as I constantly travel around the globe organizing meetings, speaking and attending industry events in addition to heading our Israeli office.
What does your company hope to achieve in Berlin?
We’ll contribute a lot to the technology and mobile ecosystem only building out our international headquarters. And we hope to add some more companies and team members to the glispa family soon. For sure, at the end of the day we want glispa to continue in it’s growth objectives moving markets along with our clients (global brands and app developers) and many partners.
What has surprised you the most?
I could have never imagined how incredibly multicultural Berlin has become with so many people from all over the world coming here to explore it. That’s pretty amazing! I was also surprised to discover how much Berliners know about Israel. Our cultures fit really well together.
What are the events people can meet you in Berlin at?
I like to engage in conversation about where the mobile markets are headed – so let’s talk and continue to enjoy this incredible time in history. Mobile Growth Europe on September the 3rd and 4th in Berlin is a good opportunity to chat with me, for example.
